Mass Surveillance: Collective Behavior Monitoring & Control

No more than 600 families – with only 13 families at the core, have been exploiting, plundering, and ruling over more than 7 billion people. It is a very scary, and, rather, precarious state – For the Ruling Classes.

Even though the 7,000,000,000 billions humans are in awe – fully conditioned from the birth to  obey and  respect the law and authority of the rulers, the Ruling Elites themselves are fully aware that their fate hangs by a hair – and, has been so hanging for more than two centuries. They know it very well that a wrong swing in the collective mood of the masses, and they may go the way of  Czar Alexandrovich Romanov. It is, therefore, the matter of survival for the ruling elites to keep tab on the public mood to make sure it doesn’t swing in the wrong direction.

That is where the Mass Surveillance fits in.

As any seasoned intelligence analyst can attest, it is the relevance and quality of the data that counts. Even the brute power of computers cannot covert the terabytes of junk data into meaningful information. The first rule of intelligence analysis is to limit the data – too much information only adds the elements of confusion and distraction in the analysis process. Mass Surveillance plays no role in the process of targeted intelligence gathering and analysis.

Mass Surveillance is the tool deployed by the Ruling Elites to gauge and assess the public mood – it provides the information as to what the population is collectively thinking – how the people are reacting to any given event, provocation, or action of the governing bodies. The analysis of the  collective public reaction furnishes the input needed to adjust, manipulate, and control the  collective behavior of the populace.

From the United States Postal Service to the NSA, they all serve the purpose of monitoring and analysis, with the objective of directing and modifying the collective public behavior.

The Ruling Elites are scared. As their greed has left the masses in utter destitute, the disillusion and disenchantment has set in, and the frustration is giving way to anger. It is a very dangerous time for the Elites – the situation may change abruptly, and, with their perspective, for the worst. In these dangerous times, they need to hear every word uttered by the collective. They need to know what the collective think. They want to know what the people buy, how they interconnect with each other, and above all, how they collectively, and as a groups, react to any given stimulus.

It is all about the behavior monitoring, with the objective of controlling the collective behavior. Many of the events, real or staged, are produced to monitor the public reaction. It provides them the information needed to make the necessary adjustments, and to fine tune the timing, nature, and intensity of the Event that is going to be the precursor to the Final Clampdown – the time of which is not that far away.

Mass Surveillance is, therefore, for the collective monitoring of the populace, not for the individual spying – though, it certainly is a fringe benefit.

So, when President Barack Obama had said “Nobody is listening to your telephone calls,” he was right to the dot. There is no one at the other end listening to each and every one of the millions of phone calls every day of the year – unless of course you are targeted.

The objective of the collective surveillance is quite evident from the very setup of the instruments of Mass Surveillance in the US.

The Tools of Mass Surveillance

In the US, the Grand Ma of the Mass Surveillance is the NSA – with its massive data collection warehouse in Utah. According to its own website, the amount of data and its scope is mind boggling:

As it can be noted, it is not a set-up for spying on individuals, it is an instrument of Mas Surveillance. The Amount of data captured by NSA is too humongous for any meaningful and intelligent analysis.

The NSA claims that ” it is not listening to or recording actual conversations, the agency is using the data to analyze calling patterns in an effort to detect terrorist activity.”  Of course, they are being very truthful – for once!

The Unites States Postal Service is not far behind. Under the veil of its postal screening system, it photographs (the Mail Cover program) every piece of mail in the US, shares with agencies that request It, and stores it in its database for instant retrieval. The US Postal Service handles 212 billion pieces of mail annually – it is an enormous amount of data.

When the Ma Bell – the real AT&T, started its operation back in 1877-78 – the first telephone line was constructed, the first switchboard was created, and the first telephone exchange was put into operation, the provision for the government eavesdropping was already in place – all the calls were routed to a Central Listening Station before connecting to the called party. At the listening center, the stenographers of The Empire would write down the entire conversation.

Of course, in our present time, every call, be it on the cell, Internet, or land-line, becomes the part of NSA’s permanent record.

The notion that the law enforcement agencies need the court’s warrant, or need to install the devices to wire-tape the phone conversations, is just a fiction promoted through the TV channels and movies – Every call, since the installation of the very first phone line, first connects to the recording system, then goes to the called party.

Similarly, all the data on the credit card, debit cards, cash cards, and ACH transactions – from gas stations to Amazon shopping, are recorded. It in itself is a massive data – reaching to a billion transactions per day.

The recording and storing of such a large amount of data serve no purpose other than monitoring and analyzing the collective behavior.

Staging the Events to monitor the Collective Reaction

Beside the compilation of all this data, many events are created for the purpose of monitoring the public reaction to the specific event – Twitter serves as a useful tool in monitoring all the tweets that emanate in response to the presented event. All those tweets and the related communications are intercepted and analyzed to evaluate the public reaction. The data is then used to fine tune the moves and plans of the ruling elites.

One such events, apparently produced for the specific purpose of monitoring and gauging the collective public response, involved a shooting in Ottawa in which a gunman identified as a “recent Muslim convert, high-risk traveller” ended up injuring several and killing another Canadian soldier on December 23, 2014.

Mass Surveillance thus serves its purpose. The compilation and analysis of all this data is probably telling the Ruling Masters that the public awareness has crossed the danger mark – And, some thing has to be done about it.

Of course, these staged events also serve to provide the governments an excuse to enact more tougher laws – to ‘ensure the safety of the public‘ – Moving forward with the preparations to the Final Clampdown.
